IACET Accreditation... What does it mean for Affiliates?

Since its establishment as a nonprofit organization in 2009, the GAPPT’s sole mission has always been to promote high-quality, comprehensive, and unbiased education to public retirement system trustees and plan staff members. We sincerely believe “an educated fiduciary is an effective fiduciary™.” Because of this core belief, we undertook the rigorous accreditation process. Achieving IACET’s Accredited Provider status demonstrates that the GAPPT has the utmost confidence in its continuing education and training to submit itself for evaluation by a third party.

The GAPPT has experienced remarkable growth over the last six years. IACET’s recognition validates the work we do as an educational association and will also enhance GAPPT’s visibility within Georgia and throughout the country. Therefore, we anticipate more Plan Sponsor interest in joining the organization… resulting in even more attendance at our events.

In addition to an increase in networking opportunities, the IACET accreditation will positively impact its Affiliate members by:

  • Assuring the member’s firm that time spent at GAPPT educational events is professionally valuable.
  • Increasing presenter recognition among peers and colleagues in the public retirement sector.
  • Increasing the value of the Certified Retirement Plan Fiduciary™ designation.
